Canvas is an online learning management system that enables both online instruction and student participation. History
Hugh B. Logan, D.C., who established the institution and served as its first president, inspired the naming of the college. On September 1, 1935, seven men and women made up the first group of students to sign up. The college was located in a residence that had been converted into a building at 4490 Lindell Boulevard in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis. After the enrollment of five new students in February of 1936. In November of that year, the college relocated to a 17-acre (6.88 ha) estate located at 7701 Florissant Road in Normandy, which is a suburb of St. Louis.
In 1958, the Oklahoma City institution known as Carver College of Chiropractic, which had been established in 1906, merged with the nearby Logan Basic College of Chiropractic. Following the merger that took place in 1964 between Missouri Chiropractic College and Logan Basic College of Chiropractic, the institution was subsequently referred to as Logan College of Chiropractic.
In 1972, Logan College purchased the properties of the former Maryknoll Seminary in Chesterfield, Missouri, including the buildings and the grounds. Since that time, a number of new buildings have been added, including the Health Center in 1982, the Science and Research Center in 1986, the Sports and Wellness Complex in 2000, which included adjacent ballfields and a pavilion, and the William D.
2007 saw the opening of the Purser Center, and 2008 saw the opening of the Standard Process Student Center. In addition, in 2003, the former Maryknoll chapel was renovated, and in 2006, the Biofreeze Sports and Rehabilitation Center was added to the Health Center. About Dr. McDonald
In March 2013, Logan University's seventh president, Clay McDonald, DC, MBA, JD, took office. Dr. McDonald has worked as a successful chiropractor for 30 years and has more than 20 years of experience as a senior administrator at chiropractic institutions. Dr. McDonald spent eight years in Eureka, Montana, where he co-owned a multidisciplinary clinic that combined medical, chiropractic, physical therapy, and mental health, after earning his chiropractic degree from Logan in August 1982.
In 1997, Dr. McDonald graduated from St. Ambrose University with a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Healthcare Administration. In 2001, he graduated with his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law. with an alternative dispute resolution certificate and a certificate in healthcare and elder law.
Dr. McDonald served from 2005 to 2013 as a board or council member for the Council on Chiropractic Education and took part in numerous accreditation activities through that organization. Dr. McDonald currently sits on the Association of Chiropractic Colleges executive committee and the board of the Spine Institute for Quality.
What Is Canvas?
A course management system called Canvas facilitates online teaching and learning. This makes it possible for professors to publish grades, data, and assignments online.
